Hello everyone, here’s some context.
Been with GF for 4 years, both working, I make 30% more than her. I pay for all utilities and I split the rent 50/50 with her. Lately she keeps hinting that I should pay more of the rent and stuff, because I’m a man and I make more than her and this month I somehow spent more than I had available on stuff (gifts, etc) and didn’t have rent money for my side. So I got a gig of 4 nights as a bartender and if I work all these 4 nights, I can pay the rent for my side and hers, yet I told her that I finally got enough money to pay my part. She flustered, became angry that I’m selfish and I barely spend time with her now (I work nights, sleep during the day, this gig is working for me because I have OOO from my main job) and demands that I pay the whole rent for her side too since I’m making enough to cover it and she’s helping around my family (making food, buying groceries, etc).
I need some help in understanding if she’s manipulating me or not, or if what she’s saying is normal for me to do. What do you think about this situation?
