My grandparents have recently re written their will and made my father executor of the will. My dad told me that it cost my grandparents £40,000 to sort their will which is a shocking amount. Now, they do have a lot of assets and I’ve always suspected he has maybe a couple million in assets – but he is also deteriorating mentally.
My concerns are;
Has he been conned by a solicitor to pay so much?
Do solicitors charge 1 or 2% of the estate value for the service?
