People have been generally excited and happy for us.
My favorite reaction was from his mom, who basically told him he needs to get his life together (his life is together) and get a job (he’s had the same job for fifteen years, she is delusional) if he wants to marry someone like me. It was a very nice thing to say but, like, I’m not settling.
I ask because I just got engaged and there have been a few interesting responses. His mom isn’t happy at all and I’m unsure as to why. Someone made a joke about divorce. even some negative comments about how long we plan on staying engaged (2 years). It’s just been weird. I will say though 99% of people in our lives have been super excited for us and I feel so blessed.
