This year my friends asked me if I’d like to come over to celebrate New Years. I told my partner(25M) that my friends invited me and he said okay do what you want. So I told my friends yes.

Yesterday my partner asked me what are we doing for New Years and I said going over to my friends house. He immediately shut down and stopped talking to me. I asked if he remembers me telling him a month ago about the invite and it made him more mad. I said let’s go to my friends house together with everyone… he didn’t respond.

I guess he wanted it to be just the two of us which I understand but I wish he communicated that clearly. I rarely see my friends after graduation and I see my partner pretty much every day/ every other day.

TL;DR I said let’s talk about New Years and told him that I don’t mind telling them no and staying in together. He told me to just go and forget about it because he already made plans.

He ignored me the whole day and I told him I know you’re ignoring me because you’re mad and he said it’s because I don’t care.

I literally said let’s talk about it and he didn’t. I wish he bothered to talk about the situation, his thoughts/ feelings and try to compromise. Am I being selfish? Any recommendations on what to say or do?
