Australian guy here. It’s been 5+ years since I’ve traveled to the US and I’ll be staying there for a few months next year. Is there any need to carry physical cash with me anymore?
For context, I haven’t carried any cash with me in Australia for at least three years now. I’ve never had a situation that required cash and it’s been hugely convenient not having to. In fact, it feels weird to me now when I see someone pay with cash at a cafe or whatever. I don’t even carry any cards with me; it’s all done on my phone or watch.
Is it pretty much that same over there or should I plan to always have at least some cash on me?
