I have heard people say “Americans don’t eat organs” but that’s not true. It’s very dependent on your cultural background and cuisine.

So, what type of offal are common around you?

I’m a Nuyorican x Dominican from NYC. I’m currently veg* but I ate a lot of beef liver (with onions), chicken gizzards, blood pudding, and pigs feet growing up. They were more treats then anything though. We didn’t eat them too often.

Beef tripe and oxtail are things I discovered as a teen because they’re *way* too difficult to make. It’s something you buy at restaurants instead.
