There’s a question often asked in couples therapy that if only one person could orgasm, who would you choose. Most men choose to make their partner orgasm which runs counter to stereotypes that men just “want to get their rocks off.” I know sex is so much more than just a release for men.

But it does seem like men get something particular from the experience of making their partner cum. It doesn’t seem true in reverse as most women (especially married, monogamous women) are not desperate to make their partner cum to the same extent.

Men, what do you get out of it? Is it validation, accomplishment, an affirmation of masculinity? What is it for you?

*I recognize this question is heteronormative and I don’t intend to offend or exclude anyone.
