I(F18) had a conversation with a guy (M18) about wether this whole thing would lead to dating, and was not just for fun. I didn’t qualify this as actually being exclusive/ officially being together and so I did start talking to other guys(who is now my bf). I am now afraid months later that I cheated on this guy.
For context;
We went on a date once, we were friends for 2-3 months before this date.
This is how the conversation went:
Me: what we’re doing, is it like gonna lead to dating?
Him: Idk why?
Me: So we’re doing thing all just for fun?
Him: No. I’d love for it to be a relationship but if we go down this path I still have a lot to learn about you, and a lot to work on myself to give you what you deserve. I would love to date you if you ever felt the same
Me: Well I don’t just do this stuff for fun yk?
Him: Yeah, I understand.
Me: If this is just for fun though then I wanna back out
Him: No. I like how you treat me. You make me feel appreciated. If you’re scared we don’t have to continue
Me:I’m not scared, I just don’t want to do this all for fun just for it to lead to nothing.
The conversation ended there, we didn’t continue on from there though aside from a bit of flirting until we eventually stopped talking and he found out I was talking to someone else.
I asked him today if he felt as if this was exclusive, he said no. I am so afraid and didn’t realize this could be cheating up until now.
TLDR; Confused as to if this counted as cheating without realizing it months later. Wanting to know if this conversation counted as an exclusive talk.
