  1. You know that moment when you can spot American tourists by their voice. In other words, you hear them before you see them. But to be fair, any group of tourists, whether they’re Spanish, Italian, or English, can just be as loud as we are.

    The eccentricity of a planet is a way of making seasons, but Earth’s orbit isn’t particularly eccentric. [This article](https://worldbuildingpasta.blogspot.com/2023/12/climate-explorations-eccentricity.html) says that at extremely high eccentricities, rain stops during summer because of the extreme heat. It also leads to a global monsoon season of winds going into the sea in winter and into continents in summer rather than a hemispheric wind pattern.
