Hello everyone and happy new year. You can probably understand what I’m asking from the title but I will give more detail.

I’m currently 17 and my big dream is to become a pilot. Currently doing my PPL etc but of course that takes a lot of time and money.

I love aviation overall so of course am looking at airport jobs. Whether it’s on a check-in desk, loading bags or cabin crew.

However I only have GCSEs (7 passes including Maths and English) and absolutely despised school due to bad anxiety. This has meant that I recently left college and am now looking for some part time work for until I’m 18.

I am wondering if I would be able to get an aviation job once I’m 18 with just my current academic achievements. I understand that jobs typically only require GCSEs but I think the competition of other people would be a problem.

Does anyone know if I am right? Should I just get some part time work and then apply for airport jobs once I’m eligible? Or go back to college and try in a couple years. Thank you very much and sorry for the overload of information.
