I’ve been chewing on this for a few weeks unsure of how to best frame it; figure I’d just pitch it to this community.

During grade and middle school all lessons that touched on topics of governing or history where a monarch led a country it was strongly suggested that kings are inherently violent or perpetually angry people that you should be very afraid of.

The lessons would detail that a king is quick to send anyone who even slightly annoyed them to the gallows, thrown in the dungeon, off with their head and so on.

Did anyone else have the same experience?
