It will depend on what it’s for. A referral for cancer or a new diabetes diagnosis will be very quick. For a physio or therapy it could be months.
If your GP says it’ll take a month, wait until 5 or 6 weeks have passed. If it’s urgent, get in touch sooner.
It can be, not only is there a massive backlog ay various points in the Nash but your symptoms *may* not present urgent concerns.
Unless you are on a 2 week cancer referral, the waiting time is as long as a piece of string
Sorry to be brutal, but are you not aware of the NHS waiting lists for non urgent procedures?

Didn’t mean to post so many times!
Saw the doctor, was seen by the surgeon / consultant one month later (almost to the day), pre op assessment due to be four weeks after that and then hopefully I’ll know when the knife happens
When I was referred for Physio it was 11 months. Dermatology in my area is currently 5-6 months. Podiatry is 2.
If you are waiting for an ADHD assessment it could be a few years
It took just over a month for me to receive an appointment after being referred to a specialist, which is quicker than it’s taken in the past for other referrals. They said I needed surgery which I’m still waiting for 9 months later.
