I’ve been talking to a guy on Tinder for the past week that I got pretty excited about. He had 2 admittedly awkwardly angled pictures, but they did show his face, teeth, and body. It was a close-up of his face at an angle and an angled picture of him sitting down. Regardless, he looked like exactly my type.

We made plans to meet this weekend. A few days ago I colored my hair a slightly different color, and I sent him a picture so he wasn’t “surprised” about it. He also sent me pictures, and WOW. This is NOT the person it looks like in the photos. I can kinda see that it’s him in general, but he really chose the most deceptive angles to hide what he really looks like.

If I cancel now, he’s going to know it’s because of his looks. However, I have to admit that I have lost interest. I know I’m supposed to advocate for myself, but how do I do this without hurting his feelings too badly, or at all? He’s not a bad looking guy, it’s just not what the pictures represented and it’s not the look that I’m attracted to.

Should I just suck it up and go? What would you do?
