I will argue that there’s still a desire for in person shopping. I understand historically the suburban mall has served as a third place outside the home and work, where people would go mainly for the experience of leisurely stroll while browsing each store all day. Mainly it’s due to Americans wanting to get more done in less time. Malls are known to not be as convenient for parking plus the enromous amount of walking to get there where you need to go. It I s much more convenient to just drive up to the individual store where I you to shop, get the things you need, and get back in your car and drive away.
