Once I was at a small party my friend was throwing where I knew the majority of the people there. There were a few I didn’t know, but there was this one girl in particular who would always turn red, stutter, giggle and then avoid me when I tried to talk to her or include her in the conversation. She was the shy quiet type who made a very low key entrance, stayed low key the entire night and only stuck to a few close friends that she knew. I never heard her say anything the whole night since the only times she’d speak is when whispering to her friends.
For example, when I arrived, I had a gift (just a bag of cookies) that I showed to the host and she just straight up laughed out loud. I felt it was a bit weird but then I tried to give her a chance by making small talk with her later. But all she responded with was just stuttering, blushing and then avoiding me. Then I just left her alone since there wasn’t much I can do. But I did notice many times when I would say something to other people, she would look at me, giggle and then immediately whisper to her friends. I did feel like she was only acting like that towards me
I’m not sure if she’s talking about me or gossiping, but it definitely felt weird. I brushed it off but I was wondering what your thoughts are on why she would act like that? Was she being the weird one or did she look down on me for some reason? Or was I overthinking? I felt it’s common courtesy to at least acknowledge the other person and be a bit more polite lol
