I recently was told by a friend that the speed limits are slower on highways in the US than here in Austria and I just looked it up… it is 65 to 80, but some states never get above 65 like in the Northeast and 70 in the Westcoast. Correct me if I am wrong.

That seems weird because when compared with Austria (where the speed limit is always on highways 80 mph) the roads are wider and the cars are bigger, and also there are more drivers that are affected by the driving laws. Maybe it is because there are more drivers on the road so it might be dangerous?
