I turned 36 recently, having two kids (age 7 and 3) and the more I gather experience as a parent I keep rethinking my childhood. I grew up in a dysfunctional family, but not pathological. Alcoholic father and workaholic mother.

Now that my elder is entering the age I remember I keep rethinking how things were when I was young. I just can’t understand some things that happened. I can’t ask my parents as my dad does not recall anything and my mom disappeared, no contact whatsoever.

Is this a thing at this age and stage of parenthood, or… well look for some therapist appointment.
