Title says it all really. Getting married in August. Haven’t eaten meat since I was 15 (will be 30 when I get married), and fiance hasn’t eaten meat for 8 years. Not having a sit down meal, but having a pizza van later on (This will serve meat).

Getting some snide comments from family members from both sides regarding not having meat on the buffet. The caterers are providing veggie scotch eggs, veggie rolls, pasta, quiche and loads of other ‘proper’ buffet items. All home made, not just cheap shop bought stuff etc.

Don’t know wether to just put a meat sausage roll or something on just to save face. But it’s literally one meal? Am I being a knob here or are they? ha.

Cheers

ETA: 80% of the wedding party are getting there at 4pm. We’re having a tiny ceremony, so they will be having lunch before they get there.

Should’ve added above that we’re having a literal wall of cheese. The buffet will be entirely normal, just no pork pies, cold meats, etc etc.

Really appreciate all the comments. Thanks

To answer the questions that ask ‘wouldn’t you expect a vegetarian/vegan option at a wedding bla bla?’ … yes, of course. But vegetarians/vegans do not eat meat or fish. Meat/fish eaters DO eat things other than meat or fish. They can eat cheese, they can eat quiche, they can eat salad.
