What would your local region be like if society collapsed and become technologically identical to Europe in the dark ages?

I often think about a scenario like this, where somehow, society hypothetically collapses and becomes similar to the dark ages, or medieval era. What would religion, language, and politics be like in 100-200 where you live had something like this happened? Just a little thought experiment, don’t be too serious over it.
