We are in a 12 hr difference long distance relationship.
I work on the other side of the globe, while he’s a business owner back in our home country, and he has 4 employees – two men and two women.
One of his female employees, we’ll call her V, makes me wildly uncomfortable. For example she’s always weirdly excited about me leaving. And would flirt with my bf – her boss – thinking he wouldn’t tell me.
Anyways … he wanted a team building trip with his employees. And V suggested they go on a hot spring trip. The rest of the team was really excited about it from what I heard because it’s been really cold lately.
My bf knows I’m uncomfortable so he told them he can have food and drinks with the team but he will sit out on the hot spring.
and V got upset and just canceled the whole trip saying “it’s not happening unless you’re joining us in the hot spring”
I’m happy it got canceled, but I can’t help feeling bad that other employees seemed to have looked forward to it. And maybe my bf also felt bad about it too… Am I acting crazy for being the buzz kill – and making my bf look like the buzz kill? I think if they did anything else that’s more – wholesome – for team building, I’d be fine. But 5 people squeezing in a small hot tub half naked… with a girl who doesn’t respect me or our relationship? Don’t think that’s something I can compromise either
