Alright I see English meaning different things depending on context.

1) **You got the Nationality aspect**
People born and that have lived in England for a lot of their life.

**2) Ancestry/genetic heritage**
People with families living in England that date back generations here whilst being white and having an anglo-saxon mix.

3) **Cultural aspect**
Being raised in England, loving the food, speaking with a variant of an English accent, supporting England in sports, liking the music, folklore, literature etc.

I ask this cause people have different meanings and interpretations of what it means to be English.
There doesn’t seem to be a defined meaning to it.
Nowadays its more passed on as a cultural identity nowadays!
