There’s this scene from Fight Club where the narrator wants a place to stay, but he is too scared to ask it directly, until the other character says to him to just ask.
So there’s quite a few people in my class that I think are cool, and even though they all have their own cliques and friend groups, I don’t really want to continue being friendless, so I’m considering just letting go, and asking them “Hey, wanna be friends?”
The worst thing they could say is no, and even if they said it out of pity, what do I lose? The classic method of making friends is talking and making sure there’s mutual liking, and as I said before, they already have groups and cliques, so it’s not like I could just barge in. Now that I think about it, it’s childish, but if it means I no longer have to be alone and friendless, why not?
