Just curious on how people keep their conversation going while being interesting. I tend to approach people, smile, say hello, and introduce myself but after doing that I don’t know how to keep the conversation going while not being boring. I tend to ask them questions like I’m interrogating them. So, what are some ways I can keep the conversation going and not be boring.

  1. Scott adams has a great technique for this. Ask about what they do for a living, their hobbies/interests, where they’ve travelled recently, any movies they’ve recently watched, where they live, and ask about their family.

  2. If you find yourself doing more talking than listening, simply steer the conversation back to the person you’re speaking to by asking them a question or their opinion on a matter. Obviously you have to speak yourself to do this.
