I have spent hours looking for an answer and the more I read the more confusing everything becomes…

Question: If 60-95% of the population has HSV-1 AND it can be spread with NO outbreak whatsoever.. isn’t everyone participating in oral sex at risk of getting genital HSV-1? And why does no one seem to care or talk ab this?

From my understanding, anyone with hsv-1 can pass it to someone’s genitals even without sores..

It seems to be a common understanding that getting head is “safe” if there are no sores on the persons mouth, especially in the male community. Is everyone just oblivious to this or not care that they’re at risk of getting genital HSV-1..?
