So my boyfriend always pays for all of our dates, including my food. Today he told me he didnt have the money to pay for me and asked if I wouldn’t mind paying. I felt pretty upset as I started overthinking as he has never asked this of me. He did say he recently did make a big purchase for his family and doesn’t have the money, which I feel like might be a lie. In the past, whenever I offered to pay, he would never let me pay, and it has been like that since.
For me, it’s not really about the money but more of the “being taken of” feeling from him paying for me. It’s the first time he has asked me to pay after being together for 2 years. I’m wondering, does he still love me?
