Ignorant American who has enjoyed the luxury of an in sink garbage disposal my whole life. It seems like such a basic thing but I’m really grappling with it. Example: made instant noodles tonight for dinner, and I’ve got a pot with broth, chunks of noodle, and some leftover veg at the bottom. Do you run it through a colander and make more dishes? There’s a drain catch that you can insert but it doesn’t allow water to pass through it? Do I just need to get used to picking food scraps out of the drain? Just moved to Germany and living in a small apartment, Google told me that no disposal is the standard in Europe.
