Those here who no longer get along with or talk to your parents, what happened?

1. I suffered much religious abuse at the hands of my mostly absentee biological father. Tried to reconnect during early adulthood, and once again at the behest of my wife around 30. Had my own kids shortly after and realized how angry I was with him. I’ve never spoken to him since, but do my best to keep in touch with his sisters, brother, and my cousin.

2. Drugs and mental abuse.
