I, 24m, recently found out that my girlfriend, 22f, watches porn because of her search history on her laptop. We talked about it and agreed that it’s not a big deal. Her watching porn doesn’t really bother me.
So one day, while she was at work, I decided to watch porn myself. I didn’t think it was a big deal seeing as she did it herself a few days ago. But when she came home and saw that I’d been watching gay porn she was hurt and insulted.
She was upset because she felt like it invalidated our relationship – I’m dating a woman, not a man. She felt like I was disrespecting her, as obviously gay sex is different from straight sex. She told me that I should be with a man if that’s what I want.
The thing is, she already knew I was bi and that I liked men, so I don’t know why it’s such a shock. The guys in the porn she watches look nothing like me, they’re all bigger, taller, more well hung and mostly black (I’m white).
Is she being unreasonable or am I?
