My favorite is Hawaiʻi Ponoʻī anthem of the us state of hawaii. The song has been used since the island chain was a Polynesian monarchy

  1. Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver, one of West Varginia’s state songs.

  2. I’m partial to Georgia on my Mind. Also a big fan of Take Me Home, Country Roads and My Old Kentucky Home. Really anything that lends itself well to stadiums full of people belting it at top volume.

  3. Not my favorite but I loved the irony that – until the last year – Maryland had a pro-Confederacy state song. Now they have none, which is better but less ironic.

  4. I honestly couldn’t tell you one. Or any state birds. Or state colors. Or state ice creams. Or any of the “official” things. It’s just not something I ever hear discussed or see lists of.

  5. Had to look them up as I didn’t know any. Frankly I don’t really like any of them.

  6. Union Dixie

“Away down South in the land of traitors, rattlesnakes and alligators…”

  7. I didn’t know that these exist(maybe cuz NJ doesnt have one) but I looked it up on wikipedia: favorite is Rocky Mountain High.

  8. I’ve never heard my own states anthem. Didn’t even know it had one. Does NY have one? Is it worth listening to?

  9. I do love belting “(Back Home Again In) Indiana” at the 500. Super excited to get back to the track after two years away.

  10. Probably the best well known “anthem” from my state would be [California Here We Come](https://youtu.be/wXF0RtxK7II)

But I think this one is the closest to being official: [California, I love you](https://youtu.be/l_GPIhNuNFQ)

Both of those used to be played frequently at Disney’s California Adventure park before they rolled back the California theme and turned it into Disneyland II.

Finally, I’ll throw in this little (very local for my area) anthem by Bing Crosby: [Where the Turf Meets the Surf](https://youtu.be/2t98_QvhPgc)

  11. I don’t know if either of the Carolinas has it as an anthem, but I’ve always liked “Carolina in my Mind” by James Taylor.

  12. It’s a territory, but Puerto Rico’s Boriquena is a nice instrumental.

    Oklahoma’s is, frankly, cheating. 🙂

  13. It didn’t quite make the cut, but a joke proposal to make “Louie Louie” the Washington state song actually caught some traction in the mid-80s. I wish it had gone through. We would have had one of the few state songs that people actually know.
