When I’m in a mad dash in the mornings, I wear pants and two bras around the house, a regular underwire bra covered by a sports bra around the house before I rinse my hair in the sink as I’m getting ready for work. I put a shirt on as soon as I’m done rinsing my hair.

My prepubescent son is usually eating breakfast before school in the kitchen area or living room. My husband has come downstairs twice now and asked me in a sh\*tty tone where my shirt is and to put one on because I’m in “mixed company” and it’s “inappropriate”.

I feel like he’s objectifying and sexualizing me to my children and they’re going to begin looking at me in a way that they never did before. I’m disgusted by his mentality on the topic and feel like he’s projecting his own perverted thoughts about women onto me and my children.

I also don’t want my boys to view women as sex objects, believe boobs should be normalized because they are primarily for breastfeeding and I don’t want them to think differently and be disrespectful towards a woman just because she’s wearing a sports bra. Women wear sports bras in public all the time, but it’s not okay in the comfort of my own home for like.. 10 minutes?

How would you handle this?
