My boyfriend (22m) and I (24F) have been officially dating fot 6 months but were seeing each other prior to that. Since we’ve begun dating, I have dropped hints that I wanted flowers. It seems so dumb I know, but I’ve subtly mentioned it alot.
Anyways, it got to a point where I brought it up bluntly and he got very upset saying on the anniversary we had just celebrated he had tried to get flowers but the shops had closed too early in our area, and he had been running around trying to find some. I felt bad cause he seemed very genuinely upset.
Anyways, may sound dumb, but his Facebook profile popped up on my recommended friends (I had logged on just to send a family member something I truly do not use it at all) and I saw his picture was a (old) photo of him sitting on a bed holding a big bouquet of flowers, presumbly for his ex girlfriend whom he dated a few years before me. It kind of bothered me seeing that he clearly had gotten her flowers despite him saying that relationship didn’t mean anything and he didnt truly care for her the way “he cares about and loves me”
Last night I brought up flowers again, and this time he made a joke (?) about how I’ve never gotten flowers for him, it caught me off guard and I just said “Sorry, I hadn’t realized you wanted them” but it didn’t seem like he was being serious? after that I just shut up about it for the night. But it’s been bothering me a lot. Advice? Let it go or bring it up again?
