I’m looking to buy another car, i really want to get a honda civic 2008 but it’s euro 4 and will cost me quite a bit. When will euro 4 standard be changed? I’ve placed a query with tfl but they just gave me a very generic response of currently no plans are in place to change the standard.

I’m guessing sooner rather than later they will change the standard to euro 5 or euro6?

Anyone have any thoughts on this. The last thing I want is to spend quite a bit on the car I want only to have to get rid of it after a couple of years…

I hear some people say they think the gov may keep the standard as euro 4 till 2030. But no official confirmation or statement from the gov on this. If that was to be the case then I’d be happy to be able to keep the car for at least 6 years.

I’d be tempted to go for a euro 5 civic so it lasts longer in terms of ULEZ but it’s not the exact model I want and will cost me much more
