In the UK we have branded over the counter medication but often have non branded version which is cheaper but are literally the same chemically so often that is the one we buy.
Most medication prescribed by a Dr will be generic and will be called by its medicine brand e.g. Prozac is just Fluoxetine here and I didn’t realise they weren’t the same thing until I googled what prozac was.

I often see on TV that they had to switch to generic for whatever reason and its seen as a negative thing. So how is it different 🤔
