Mittelstand refers to the small and medium-sized enterprises that dominated Germany’s economy. Around 99% of all enterprises in Germany are Mittelstand. Big names such as Adidas, Porsche, and Bosch are only 1% of the enterprises in Germany, and the biggest. These companies don’t focus on profits but instead, they focus more on the quality of products, and they pay their employees very well compared to megacorporations. What would be the effects of Mittelstand on the US economy and its society?
