Hey all, I was watching the 2023 USN ship selection video and the announcer sometimes said something like “Midshipman x is one of our international members”. I was just wondering if international countries work with the US military and send over officer candidates, or if they can volunteer themselves for a commission with the US military. I was also wondering if they hold their substantive rank if/when they return to their home country?
I don’t know anything about how this stuff works so anything would help. TIA 🙂
