My husband has helped me to pay my student fees, and has made various financial contributions to my life when we were dating and also post marriage. He usually has the provider mentality and always volunteers to pay, I also make contributions to our monthly expenses, etc. Also, whenever he has contributed financially to my life, he had never specified that I was loaning the money from him and I would eventually have to pay him back. but he has recently asked me to pay him back as he has to pay his aunty back and he is currently having financial constraints he said.

However, I feel like this is unfair, firstly because I am sponsoring his PR to my home country. Secondly because I am a law student whose in uni full time and only works part time (20 hours per week) and even with the pay I get every month, I contribute half of it to our expenses.

Regardless, I just think it’s unfair he is asking me to pay him back, mainly because I am sponsoring his PR to my country, which secures his entire future. He is my husband and I have spent money on him in various ways like buying him clothes and gifts, not expecting any money back from him.

During this argument, he has said he will take care of his own expenses after he arrives in my country and that I won’t have to financially be there for him, but again I just think its so unfair as I am giving him the privilege to move to my country with PR.

Currently we live together and we have been having arguments over things like this. I am not sure if he said this out of anger due to micro arguments we have had before.
