As title says. One thing that it seems to me is New Zealand is much, much more dependent on cars than any European country. Cars are needed even in major cities such as Auckland. Most people would culturally never imagine using public transport in this country. A study in 2022 seems to confirm that New Zealand is the most car dependent country on the planet:
