Last week I was at a wedding of a friend of mine. It was a small party with just his and the bride’s closest friends attending.

There was this guy and his girlfriend that we chatted together along the day and really enjoyed their presence and just imagined how it would be nice to befriend them.

All the time I wanted to asked for their number or Facebook but never mustered the courage to actually do that. Eventually, we parted ways at the end of the day because I live in a different city and they took an Uber.

I know I could have just blurted out “Can I have your number?”, I don’t know why I felt afraid or generally didn’t do that. But I badly regret it because I don’t go to a lot of events and don’t meet a lot of people who I feel connected with like I did with them.

Also, I tried asking my friend (the groom) if he has the guy’s number but it turned out he came with his girlfriend who’s friends with the bride, he said he’ll try to get it but it just gonna fall through the cracks and of course I’m not gonna spam him with my request.

  1. (1) if you know his full name, search him on social media. Or look through the groom and bride’s friends in social media and add them.
    (2) instead of asking for a number, give yours. “Hey you seem super cool. If you’re ever in town, here’s my number. Give me a ring”
