What did you do when you concluded you don’t like being around a friend’s new SO?

1. I had this happen with one of my good friends. Her new bf at the time was a jackass and controlling. I just made sure to make plans for us ladies only to hang out, instead of double dates. (They eventually married, had a kid and got divorced.)

   Now, she is with a new man. My husband and I think he’s great and we like to do double dates with them.

2. I only didn’t like him because of the way he liked to mock her hobbies and imply her job was meaningless. So I called out that habit, in front of the both of them, and waited for his reaction. He wasn’t receptive, so I told him I didn’t think he was a very good boyfriend and my best friend deserved someone more supportive.
