A lady was walking out of Petco with two dogs. I smiled a bit at her and her dogs. She looked at me like I was being awkward and making her uncomfortable. Then I said nicely “Your dogs are really cute.” She gave me a weird look and didn’t respond.
Stuff like this happens a lot.
I’m late 20’s female, autistic, wasn’t dressed weird. Wasn’t standing close to her or being loud. But I can’t pin down what energy I’m emulating. But I tell myself people can choose how they can respond.
