I’m learning Swedish by taking an online course on Duolingo as part of a plan to leave the country. The word “kvinnan,” meaning “the woman,” appears a lot in the course materials. However, the Swedish related subreddit r/svenska warned me not to use the word “kvinnan”. I would default to avoiding using this word, but the course may get me habituated to using it. Advice please?
