This may be my brain overthinking things, but I’ve truly never understood the concept of remaining present in a conversation, asking questions to further the conversation, showing interest in the person while they’re speaking, etc. To me, all of that seems like it would come off disingenuous if I spent the entire time just asking questions or follow up questions every time someone was telling me something in a conversation. How do I avoid falling into that issue?
