I went today and got my wife flowers (and a little balloon) and then while I was out I wanted to get my mom flowers too because my dad was not getting her flowers.
My wife and I agreed to have a simple Valentine’s Day and just relax and home no gifts. I wanted to get her flowers still as a small surprise. She got upset that I got her only flowers because since I got my mom flowers they were “on the same level” and there should have been more effort for my wife cause she’s my wife.
She said I should have tried harder and put more effort it’s Valentine’s Day. When there was no expectation for today and I just wanted to surprise her with some flowers but now I hear that I needed to put in more effort because by giving my mom flowers it means she got no extra special effort.
Was I supposed to do more for my wife?
