I’m not talking about technicians/engineers/drivers, but the welfare officers you seem to see on every platform. I have absolutely no disrespect towards them but I literally have no idea what their job is save for just standing on the platform for a few hours.
There seems to be a lot of jobs on the railways where the main role is just kind of standing about aimlessly
