I guess the “Internet” will sound the same in all the languages. Similarly the “computer”, it might be spelled or pronounced a bit differently but it’s the same word. But suddenly it’s not “computer” but “ordenador” in Spanish.

In my native Polish, we have quite a nice example. The “at” sign (@) has its own name: “małpa” (literal translation: monkey). I think it is because that longer line around “a” looks like a tail of a monkey. And we use that when we read loud e-mail addresses. For example: Tom@gmail.com would be read: “Tom małpa gmail kropka com”. I find it a bit bizarre when I think about it.
