I live in the US and have seen funeral processions drive by multiple times. Can anyone have a funeral procession? Do they have to “rent” out the cop cars that drive alongside? Does the procession get legal right-of-way on the road, including running red lights? (I ask cause I saw this happen). How come there’s often more than one hearse? Is there a specific denomination that tends to do funeral processions more often? Finally, is there a specific custom random non-procession drivers or pedestrians should follow in response?
