It’s a common theme in Europe that you can spot an American tourist based on their fashion. A few stereotypical giveaways would be running/ sport trainers but worn casually. Baseball caps, shorts that go to the knee, brighter colours etc.

As a Brit I’d never put too much thought into it until today at work – I work in a restaurant when a couple sat down. I immediately thought they were dressed “quite American” whatever that means and well…it turns out they were!

So my question still stands, do tourists stick out in America based on how they dress. If so, what’s a giveaway?
