I’m inching towards my 30’s and I’ve been highly competitive all my life. Whether it’s work, sports, games, or really anything, the only thing that gets me out of bed is a chance to be the best.

Now that I’m getting older, noticing that I’ve likely peaked in terms of athletic performance, looks, and “career mobility” is really hard on me.

I also am beginning to feel like my career is set. My chances of being very wealthy are now doomed to follow the career I’ve built. It’s a great career but I’ll never be at the point where “money is no object”. My looks will deteriorate and I will never be better than I was in my prime.

Competition is all that has gotten me up for my life and I’m struggling to cope with that changing. I feel like after 35 it’s all downhill and slowing down.

How did you all adapt to this change in life?

Edit: any books, podcasts, movies that helped you here?
