My boyfriend of almost 2 years did not invite me to accompany him to a wedding that he has received a plus one for. I’ve met these friends and while we’re not particularly close as a group, I am hurt that my boyfriend would choose to go alone.
We just had an argument about the relationship quite recently.
We have a trip planned together next week and I’m strongly considering canceling and even breaking up with him over this. In my mind, the only reason you would exclude your partner is because you’re keeping your options open and holding out for “something better”. Or maybe he’s scouting for someone at the wedding. I’m spiraling thinking of all the reasons why. Am I overreacting?
How do I go about bringing this up in a calm, non-judgmental way?
