Americans who have, or had, a substantial age difference in their relationship, how have your family, friends, and society reacted to it?

“Substantial” meaning at least a few years difference, perhaps even putting each partner in a different generation. I am aware that a lot of Redditors are hostile towards age gaps in relationships, but how have people in real life treated you when they found out?
